Synergi are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a large Food manufacturing company in Bedfordshire. The successful would join the Engineering team 40 hours Days & Nights shift pattern, weekdays only. Job Description:

The main focus of the role is to organise and improve all engineering activities, safely and responsibly for a smooth running of the production line. The successful applicant will work closely with production departments to minimise unplanned downtime, which will be achieved by identifying and solving problems. You will also be organising tasks and down time for the Engineers, Operators and any Contractors to complete planned maintenance with minimal disruption. The role requires specialised knowledge of control systems, mechanical equipment, service contracts, spares and problem solving, alongside being able to share this knowledge with others.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Planned and Preventative Maintenance duties on production line/manual handling.
  • Use of computerised maintenance management system
  • Complete necessary maintenance activities to ensure parts are available when required.
  • Project work including commissioning, installation and testing of machines.
  • Identifying planned maintenance is required to ensure reactive work is minimalised.
  • Identify and complete continuous improvement activities.
  • Responsibility of your own safety and as much as possible for others to ensure the safety protocols are followed by completing risk assessments and reporting unsafe environments.
  • Promptly and thoroughly completes all tasks, capturing the correct follow on activities.
  • Organise suppliers to deliver goods and services to ensure the performance of the line.
  • Monitor day to day machine performance to maintain or improve machine efficiencies.
  • Collect, record and report accurate and detailed machine data for performance monitoring, quality control and audit purposes.
  • Lead investigations of downtime and potential causes of future downtime. Compile reports, complete actions, update maintenance procedures and train others on findings.




Salary: £40,000

Shifts: 40 hours Days & Nights shift pattern, weekdays only

Benefits: Up to a 5% bonus, matched pension up to 10% amongst various benefits i.e. subsidised gym membership etc.
