Synergi are recruiting for a Head of Automated Production Engineer to join the largest distribution company in the UK based at their Swindon site but also covering national sites. The successful candidate would create an innovation centre with the goal of helping the business to become fully automated. This is a great opportunity for a Head of Automated Production to work with new technology working to improve the business’s automation processes.

Job Description:

  • A key member of the engineering senior leadership team working across engineering and in collaboration with operations
  • Develops the Automated Production Design and technical strategy across the Parcels and Letters product streams
  • Provides technical advice and system solutions to stakeholders & Engineering on the latest automated technology
  • Leads & manages the Innovation centre and develops collaborative technical relationships with manufacturers for automated solutions

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Defines develop and own the Automated Production Design and exploitative strategy to meet business requirements
  • Define, deliver and own the strand objectives to meet business KPI's
  • Own and manage the strand staff and non-staff finances
  • Manage technical demand and change to meet business strategic decisions
  • Develop a professional learning organisation of continuous improvement & a people learning culture
  • Deliver Compliance to machinery safety standards to meet legislative requirements
  • Sets project technical timescales for the strand team
  • Sets the benchmark and innovation design solutions for the latest technology to support RM automated strategy for letters and parcels
  • Work with operations to design and deliver effective and efficient standardised site layouts in RDC’s, Mail Centres and MPUs
  • Manage supplier relationships delivering the primary installation ensuring the designs meet RM requirements and legislative standards
  • Manage the defect, design management and early equipment management processes for future deployment

 

Salary: £80,000
